I came across this video and had to write a post about it. This sort of technology is transcendent in the way we live. Watching the video you can see the degree of sophistication and technical bad-assery that makes living in today’s time exciting. Yes, bad-assery is a technical term. Stay with me.
Sure, we may be a few years from this technology becoming ubiquitous but the possibilities are truly enchanting.
What do you think about Google’s self driving car experiment. Are you looking forward to the day we can sit back and let the car transport us safely to the next destination.
For us busy moms and dads, this would be a tremendous asset in our daily battle to beat down the insanity. Imagine sitting back and working on something you need to get done as your car takes you to where you need to go.
You could gain back some of the lost quality time with your kids by interacting more with them during the drive. You could even TEXT!
What are your thoughts? Good idea? Bad idea?
Personally, I want an electric self-driving car which I 3-D printed the night before after checking the time on my iWatch while streaming Netflix on my Google Glass.

With all my time spent on the road, especially on long trips, this would be such a boon. I fear that I would fall asleep, but eventually I think I’d be able to get lots more done (like blog posts).
Like you, I want to be using Google Glass while tooling along without having to worry about driving. I’m not as sold in the busy, city areas (yet), but I do know that long distance driving would be greatly improved by this technology.
Having had some experience with 3D printing though, I’m going to hold off on that. I’m just not sure I want unplanned holes in my car LOL
Jeff Stephens says
lol…yeah, 3D printing has potential, but is still immature. Good to know to look out for holes.
I love your thought on using the self-driving car for long road trips. It could replace the current Cruise Control capability that we typically only use on the open road as well.
