Podcasting is easy right?
Wrong.
I recently celebrated my first year of podcasting on February 24, 2014. Yeah me!!
I’ve learned a tremendous amount over that year. Some good things, and some bad. In this week’s episode I recap my year and let you know what to expect in your first year of podcasting.
What Should You Expect from Podcasting
Here are some things I’ve learned in my first year of podcasting
- It’s damn hard…true story
- You get to meet some really awesome people and join a sweet little community in the online world
- Here are some podcasts that I was honored to be a guest
- The Empowered Podcast with Ellory Wells
- Starve the Doubts with Jared Easley
- Co-Host Episode of Starve the Doubts – Interviewing Jaime Tardy of the Eventual Millionaire
- Beginner Internet Business (BIB) Podcast with Jonathan Taylor
- The Life of Now with Greg Barth
- StartupDad HQ with Joel Louis
- Discover that a lot of people still have no clue what a podcast is
- It’s a lot of fun!
- Just like blogging, you have to work to build an audience
- And the biggest finding…I’m going to keep doing it! (that could be a good thing or bad thing to you)
5 Things I Learned (5TIL)
Also, in this week’s episode I discuss the following in the 5TIL
- How to Sell Snow – really
- Brilliant marketing where you tell people to go somewhere else
- Judge Judy is a boss
- What Twitter is doing about trolls and ongoing abusive behavior
- A sweet little app for taking pictures of documents and saving it as a PDF (TinyScan)
If you have something for the 5TIL, send me an email at jeffstephens@crazydadlife.com.

Hey Jeff… I really enjoyed this episode. Thank you for the generous mention. It was great having you as a guest on Starve the Doubts & also as a co-host. I hope that our paths will cross again (whether it is NMX or Podcast Movement or something completely different).

I’m sure we will definitely meet again Jared. Hopefully this time the chairs won’t be so tight together. Also, thanks for continuing to be such a evangelist for podcasting. You are truly driving the movement forward every day. I appreciate all that you’ve done for me, and what you do for the industry in general….all while being an amazing husband and father. Great stuff!
