How Do You Get Influential People to Notice You?
In this week’s episode, I share 8 ways that I’ve been successful in getting influential folks to support an online campaign I’m running.
If you have not heard yet, I’m running a Thunderclap campaign to try to get a message automatically sent on Father’s Day recognizing all those wonderful dads out there. You can sign up to support at crazydadlife.com/clap and can learn about how to set up your own campaign at crazydadlife.com/thunderclap.
This episode covers techniques I’ve used and provides insight in what has worked and where you should be cautious when trying to get big names involved with your project.
This includes:
- Get out from behind your keyboard and be personal
- Be persistent, but don’t be annoying
- Be personable, don’t always try to sell
- Use consumable content
- Reach out via social channels
- Don’t forget good old fashioned email
- NINJA TIP: Get that first big name signed up and build from there
- Enable organic growth
In addition, this week’s 5TIL (5 Things I Learned) covers:
- Google’s acquisition of Twitch
- Facebook’s new Shazam-like feature
- Boomerang for Gmail
- Another example of innovative thought regarding new technology, in this case, drones!
- Having a voice in a noisy world…is HARD!
